COVID-19 Safety Measures

An in-home childcare setting is ideal for following CDC guidelines for minimizing risk of contracting COVID-19, for reasons including:

  •  Small class size - we are licensed to have up to 12 students. Our ratio is 6 students: 1 adult.

  • Small staff - as a small in-home preschool, your child will see the same teachers everyday.

  • Smaller space to keep clean and sanitized - we do not have the daunting task of keeping a large school with multiple classrooms clean and sanitized.

In conjunction with the LA County Community Care Licensing Division, the following new safety procedures will be followed until further notice:

  • Parents will not be able to enter the classroom. Pick up and drop off will need to be outside the front door. A staff member will meet you outside. Please knock or ring the doorbell if no one is outside upon your arrival.

  • Drop off and pick up times will be staggered to avoid large groups at one time.

  • All adults should be wearing a face mask or shield (staff and parents)

  • Upon arrival outside, staff will check your child’s temperature and apply hand sanitizer.

  • If your child displays ANY symptoms of an infection (runny nose, cough, fever, severe irritability, etc.), they will need to return home. If COVID-19 is suspected, a negative test will be required before returning to school.

  • Temperatures will be checked again before nap time.

  • Increased hand washing throughout the day.

  • Increased sanitizing and disinfecting (multiple times throughout the day) of classroom, bathroom, and toys. Soft toys will be removed from classroom as they are more difficult to sanitize quickly.

  • Whenever possible, children will not share materials (art supplies, food, etc.). They will each be given their own art materials and supplies.

  • Whenever possible, we will split into small groups (outdoor play time, meals, etc.)

  • Social distancing is nearly impossible with this age group, and wearing masks is not required.

  • Staff will wear masks or face shields.

  • These procedures are subject to adjustments as needed.
